[Context] compiling xpdf tools
Hello, Maybe someone knows that already (else I can research or ask on the appropriate mailing list): is there an easy way to compile just pdfinfo, pdffonts, ... etc. from xpdf sources? (These two are the only two tools that I often used.) Akira and TeX Live provide those binaries for Windows, but I somehow miss them on my mac. Yes, I know that I can install them, but I assume that others (ConTeXt users) may find those tools handy as well and may lack them on their computers. I'm thinking about shipping them (even if only as optional installs). Maybe they are missing in TL because they are considered to be standard on any linux? Mojca

indeed it makes sense to add them to the minimals Hans ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | fax: 038 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------

I did that several times on my Mac; pdffonts compiles fine, and so does, I guess, pdfinfo, though I can't be sure for the latter because I hardly use it. xpdf is, obviously, another story, but the text-based utilities of the xpdf suite should be pretty straightforward to build on any Unixy system.

Probably. I'm all for their inclusion in the minimals, obviously. Arthur

I obviously don't want to add xpdf itself. (I have Preview and Skim for that :) The compilation seems to run without any problem; I'll add those few commands once in the near future. Mojca
