Hi Taco, Month is missing from inproceedings in cont-no.bst. Agressive deleting by texexec

Hi Hans, texexec seems to be a bit too agressive in deleting files. Here is an example touch texexec.vim texexec --module test ls texexec* The file texexec.vim has been deleted! I could not figure out why this is happening, but texexec must should delete non tex related filename extensions. Aditya

\setlayer + \externalfigure problem

Hi, I ran into a \setlayer problem while including a bitmap graphic from a figure database. The position of the gfx was slightly shifted to the right. No problems, if I included the identical graphic from a single file. \setlayer[foo][x=0pt,y=0pt ]{\externalfigure[gfx_from_a_db.png]}% shift! \setlayer[foo][x=0pt,y=50pt]{\vbox{\externalfigure[gfx_from_a_db.png]}}% ok \setlayer[foo][x=0pt,y=100pt]{\externalfigure[gfx.png]}% ok \setlayer[foo][x=0pt,y=150pt]{\hbox{\externalfigure[gfx.png]}}% shift The result of \externalfigure differs (mode) for the two inclusion methods. Also it looks like \setlayer does not ensure, that the content is in the (position neutral) vertical mode. Is there a reason for this? Currently I fixed it locally with \ifhmode\vbox\bgroup#1\egroup\else#1\fi , but a more global approach would be prefered. Any comments welcome. Greetings, Peter

Ubuntu pkgs: new edgy backports

I just updated the Ubuntu edgy backports of the texlive packages (for i386) and have been running them on my feisty laptop for half an hour and they pass my usual 'compile textbook in ConTeXt' test. The 'context' package provides version 2007.04.17 12:51. They are recompilations of the latest Ubuntu gutsy (7.10) packages, which are Norbert's latest Debian packages with maybe a couple additions (on the other hand, Ubuntu and Debian look like they are in sync right now). Let me know if you have problems. To use the packages, add these lines to your /etc/apt/sources.list : deb http://web.mit.edu/download/sanjoy/texlive-backports/ edgy/ deb-src http://web.mit.edu/download/sanjoy/texlive-backports/ edgy/ To add my key (to use the security features of apt-get): wget http://www.inference.phy.cam.ac.uk/sanjoy/sanjoy.asc sudo apt-key add sanjoy.asc Then apt-get update apt-get install cm-super texlive-fonts-recommended \ context context-nonfree context-doc-nonfree ('cm-super comes from the universe repositories) If you've been using them before, you don't need the install line with explicit pkgs. Hi, There is a bug in delimitedtext with indentnext. This is a bug. Enhancements to core-des for theorems

Hi Hans, I am attaching my enhancements for core-des. This takes care of most of the needs for theorems with ConTeXt. I hope that I have not broken anything. I have tested this with a 40 page documents, while Oliver, Olaf, and Dalyoung have tested this with bigger documents. The test files show different features. It takes care of a few bugs in enumerations, (and introduces new ones... there is a suprious space somewhere which I can not find) Basically, more enhanced support for titles, and end of proof markers, and makes sure that conversion=whatever works correctly. If you want a "title" for the theorem, say \defineenumeration[theorem] \defineenumeration[theorem][title=yes] titledistance, titlestyle, titlecolor, titleleft, and titleright control the appearance of the title. To use a title, say \starttheorem[label]{title} both the label and the title are optional, so you can have \starttheorem[label] This is a theorem with no title \stoptheorem and \starttheorem {title} this is a theorem with no label \stoptheorem \starttheorem this is a theorem with neither a title nor a label \stoptheorem For end of proof markers, say \definetheorem[theorem][endmarker=\math{\square}] or whatever symbol you want. Then a end of proof marker with will be placed at the \stoptheorem. Sometimes, for example after an itemize, the end of thoerem marker may appear on a line of its own. Then say \placenedmarker just before \stopitemize To couple two enumerations \defineenumeration[theorem] \defineenumeration[proposition][theorem] To couple just the numbers \defineenumeration[theorem] \defineenumeration[proposition][usenumer=theorem] I cannot use number=theorem because number=yes|no is to enable disable numbering. Maybe a better choice will be numbering=yes|no, and number=counter. But that will break backward compatibility :( The main thing that needs to be done is to get end of proof markers to work with formulas, but that is a bit difficult, so I have left it for the future. Nested sections should be implemented in a module and shipped with the main files. Look in the attachment for a example, I wrote a few weeks ago. What we need is a specification what is needed (reporting for opening and closing sections in the log file) and support by Hans to include the macros. We should also collect other macros, that need a start/stop pair and provide patches how they can be integrated (can be done in the wiki). Wolfgang

Hi, would it make sense to have, in addtion to e.g. \section a start..stop pair? such as \startsection{my section name} \stopsection with something like \let\startsection\section \let\stopsection\relax This way the text would be slightly more structured.
