This release has the texexec --local switch and a tiny bit of other stuff. Hi, I generate format with bin/texexec --make --alone en nl metafun but the format files go somewhere else! Even with --alone. from the logfile: used formatpath : /var/tmp/tetex3/texmf-sysvar/web2c/ I need to switch between different context versions and I'd like to have the format file in web2c/... subdir. Hi, (Moving off the normal list) It would be nice to have a gforge environment available for tracking context changes/wishes/bugs. Even without SVN, the tracking features can be very helpful. I understand from Fabrice that setting up the external subversion server is much more work than setting up the gforge database for the tracking interface, so perhaps this is an idea for contextgarden? I can possibly do this on metatex.org, but if Patrick likes it, then I believe gforge.contextgarden.net makes more sense. Keeping everything together etc. Taco

Hi, for the last versions I get hundreds(?) of these lines when generating format file: -------------------------------------------------- (/opt/context/current/texmf/tex/context/patterns/lang-pl.hyp)pdfetex: Not writing to ../type-exa (openin_any = p). pdfetex: Not writing to ../../type-exa (openin_any = p). (/opt/context/current/texmf/tex/context/base/type-exa.texpdfetex: Not writing to ../type-exa (openin_any = p). pdfetex: Not writing to ../../type-exa (openin_any = p). (/opt/context/current/texmf/tex/context/base/type-exa.tex)pdfetex: Not writing to ../type-syn (openin_any = p). pdfetex: Not writing to ../../type-syn (openin_any = p). -------------------------------------------------- This has no visible effect on the installation but looks ugly (there are problably only a few installations out there with openin_any = p in texmf.cnf. "cow.pdf" not found

Hi again, I have $ kpsewhich cow.pdf /opt/local/texmf/tex/context/sample/cow.pdf and \starttext \externalfigure[cow] Hello world! \stoptext But all I get is: (hello.log - see second line) systems : begin file hello at line 2 figures : figure cow can not be found color : system rgb is local activated Latest beta, of course. It looks as if kpathsea doesn't look in the samples directory. kdebug:kpse_find_file: searching for ./cow.pdf of type tex (from texmf.cnf) kdebug:start search(files=[./cow.pdf.tex ./cow.pdf], must_exist=0, find_all=0, path=.:!!/var/tmp/te tex3/texmf-config/tex/context//[....nothing with "sample"....] Is this a known new feature? Hi out there, I am struggling with the current ConTeXt installation on garden. I have installed the archive in /opt/context/<date>/.... and generated the format file into web2c/cont-en.fmt and alike. When I run perl /opt/tetex/current/texmf/scripts/context/perl/texexec.pl hello.tex pdfTeX uses the installed format files, when running texexec hello.tex (/opt/context/current/bin/texexec) new format files get generated by (?) and put into /var/tmp/tetex3/texmf-sysvar Both variables: TEXMFSYSVAR, TEXMFVAR poin to this directory (is this a sensible configuration?)
