Add headcommand to floatcaption

\textrule and Bidi

Inner/outer alignment resets text direction

Hi, when inner/outer alignment of paragraphs is used in a doublesided document with the text direction from RTL, the direction is changed back to LTR starting with the second page. Hi, the results of the inner and flushinner (and also outer and flushouter) keywords for \setupalign are reversed compared to MkII. I guess this happened when the code was rewritten. [MPtoPDF] Bug and fix for file pattern

Dear list, after a discussion on the texlive mailing list, I was directed to "upstream" ConTeXt garden. so bear with me. Following the canonical MetaPost manual (https://tug.org/docs/metapost/mpman.pdf) I amended the example file "conoscopy.mp" (from http://matagalatlante.org/nobre/down/featpost/MPexamples.html) with the initial line outputtemplate := "%j-%c.mps"; Running this through "mptopdf conoscopy.mp" fails with the error message MPtoPDF 1.4.1 : no filename matches conoscopy Karl Berry immediately found counter-examples for my initial tries to fix this (in the context (sic!) of TeX Live), but after some consideration I believe to have found a generic solution for "mptopdf[.pl]" that copes well with both the default output filename format of MetaPost and the alternative template above (and possibly others, as long as there's a "%c" part present). Attached is a modified version of TL's "mptopdf" that works well on MacTeX (Live 2019) for your consideration. After the internal MetaPost run, the intermediate logfile is scanned for the "output file(s) written:" message, from which the actual "@files" list is deduced. The (first) numerical part is replaced with "*" for the following file "glob"bing. Regards,Andreas Scherer

Luatex 1.08.0 announcement

============================================================== LuaTeX 1.08 2018-08-28 ============================================================== (1) This release is a prelude to 1.10, the next stable iteration of LuaTeX after version 1.00. (2) Lua 5.3 is now considered to be default and we might use 5.4 in version 1.10. There are no real functional changed expected. You still need to rename the binary for 5.3! (3) Binary mode is no longer available in MPlib but it is still available in stand alone MetaPost. This simplifies compilation and reduces dependencies. (4) The dependency on Poppler for pdf image inclusion has been removed. We now use a small dedicated library written by Pawel Jakowski. We no longer need c++ compilers. We're in the process of making it behave well on all platforms. It has been tested on intel platforms. (5) We know that there can be some (alignment) issues with the arm platform but these are looked into. Therefore, later this year we will release 1.09. Version 1.10 is planned for TeXlive. We hope that ffi works ok on intel and arm platforms at that point. (6) There have been some extensions to the Lua libraries and some callbacks have been added. Also, a few new primitives have been introduced. The documentation mentions the stable extensions. (7) There are the usual bug fixes and cleanups but there have been no real fundamental changes in the API. The LuaTeX team

Hi Hans, I wonder whether it would be possible to add these modified files to ConTeXt. These are needed to: 1. Deploy another SWF player. 2. Be able to stop the sound with a script, instead of being stopped when leaving the page. 3. Add other FlashVars to the SWF player. I don’t know whether this is the best approach. Font structure

Hi all, today I downloaded current ConTeXt minimals from the garden and watched OTF and TTF fonts. I would like to ask why IBMPlex big font family is stored directly in the font "root" directory context/v201910111339/tex/texmf/fonts/opentype while all other families are arranged in their own subdirectories. I guess IBMPlex could follow them by the same way. Would it be possible? Best wishes, Tomáš

Typo in generic fontloader code for SVG

Hi, in font-ocl.lua, inkscape is called to convert SVG table entries to PDF. This also has a "poor mans variant for generic" around line 464 which is probably supposed to call io.popen, but calls io.open instead. Of course this breaks the conversion and leads to the creation of a weird file. (See https://github.com/latex3/luaotfload/issues/96 for details) Maybe this can be fixed to use `io.popen`? There is also a harder to fix issue: Currently the code tries to do the SVG to PDF conversion when caching the font. Especially when shell-escape is disabled, this fails. Now the problem is that in this case rerunning the commands with shell-escape enabled doesn't help because the (empty) cached entries are used. Could you add some logic to try to recreate the cache if the existing PDF cache for a font is empty? Best regards, Marcel
