\usemodule[chinese] not found

Dear List, I'm trying to typeset an item group (itemize) with chinese numbering. It is suggested in multiple older documentations and answers that \startitemize[c] should be used, for which \usemodule[chinese] is required. But I can no longer find the 'chinese' module neither in texlive, in lmtx, nor on the website. Has this module been removed or replaced by something else? Thanks! Best, Sylvain

cld, postponing and images

I think I tangled myself... - I’ve a macro defined in Lua that uses fullpagemakeup and \setlayer to place an image on an empty page. - This macro is called from within a postponing environment. - I check figures.current().status.fullname if the image is found ... - and then read xsize and ysize from figures.current().status.private - I there is no image placed before the postponed ones, figures.current() is nil – If I place one, figures.current() is always the last “normal” one, never that from my macro call. – If I call context.getfiguredimensions({imagename}) within the macro where I calculate the size, and again before context.externalfigure(), then the images are found and have the right size according to figures.currents(), but... - if I didn’t place the same image before anywhere, the previous image is used, and if there was none, the place just stays empty (no dummy box). I don’t know how to resolve this, spent already the whole day to understand the problem this far. At the moment my workaround is to place all used images somewhere outside of the visible page. Hi again, I’m converting a few macros into Lua (LMTX), but couldn’t find some answers in the docs: * How translates \ifodd\realpageno ? This doesn’t work: if ((tex.getcount("realpageno") mod 2) == 1) then a = 1 end I found tex.ifodd but don’t know how to use it either. * How to access my \def’d macros? Is this supposed to work?: TeX: \def\Something{1cm} Lua: context.Something() (It doesn’t in my case, but if it should, I can investigate.) * TeX primitives Is tex.strut and tex.par supposed to work? Or how should I access these? * interface definitions: Lua: interfaces.implement { name = "MyFun", public = true, --permanent = false, -- what does this mean? arguments = { "string", "string", "string", "string" }, actions = function(reference, y, text, filename) -- a lot end, } TeX: \MyFun{ref:some}{1cm}{bla}{hacker} 0) I don’t understand what “permanent” does and why I should maybe disable it. (cld-mkiv, p.146) 1) The parameter y is actually supposed to be a dimension, but if I declare it "dimen", ConTeXt says there wasn’t a number at "1cm". Or is a measure like that not a dimension? 2) The original interface of \MyFun had two optional parameters. I couldn’t find how to do that with interfaces.implement. cld-mkiv, p.151 (12.7) shows how to do lists or key=value, but not single optional args. I’d be glad to get a few hints. Hraban

Use MetaPost to distort images?

Hi, is it possible to apply geometric transformations to images using MetaPost? This is again way over my head, but I’m still trying different methods to let a ConTeXt document look more “hand-made”. In my example*, I added frame and shadow to a photo and _distorted_ it slightly to have it look like a postcard was glued on the page (with a piece of tape). I’d like to automate and randomize that process. I guess I could achieve something similar with ImageMagick (not with GraphicsMagick), but if it would be possible inside LMTX that would be great. one quick remark about textext.dflt (vs textext.dlft)

Hi all, one remark, I was expecting to be allowed to use textext.dlft but finally the appropriate command appears to be textext.dflt which require to switch F and L letters. Is it on purpose ? would it make sense to have a dlft version to match LeFT ?

getting line numbers

Hi everybody Is there a way to have an automatic access to the current line number of a specific place inside a tex file ? To be more precise, here is what I would like to do. I am currently trying to have some automatic external compilation by g++ of some portion of my tex file as in the following example below. \startC \stopC defines a framed part of text written between lines 538 and 549. Of course, if I add something before or inbetween my framed code, 538 and/or 549 will change. Thus I would like to get these two numbers automatically. Thank you. parameters TeX->LuaTeX

There is something I do not understand in the passing of parameters from TeX to LuaTex. This is my TeX definition: \def\ListSort[#1]#2{\directlua{hvdm.listsort([===[#2]===],[===[#1]===])}} Calling \ListSort[sep={ + }]{} delivers the string 'sep={ + }' into LuaTeX as the printout in the logfile shows and as intended. However in \ListSort[{ + }]{} the braces have disappeared and transferred is nothing more than ' + '. Why is the transfer messing up the character string I am passing by removing the outer braces? Is this a bug or is it an unavoidable consequence of the TeX-LuaTeX interface? dr. Hans van der Meer
