The setup I offered in the previous email was all correct, but in a large project like a dictionary with 26 or more components there can always be something else that goes wrong! Component 'D' had an extra { in it, but oddly enough the component was compiling, except that I picked up an error message despite the fact it had compiled correctly. That one error was enough to throw things out of kilter, including the \placelistofabbreviations in an earlier component. Sorry for the noise Julian

\placelistofabbreviations in project structure?

Hi, I wonder what I might be doing wrong for \placelistofabbreviations not to work in a project. Everything else about \definesysnonyms and indeed the project is working, but I seem unable to place the list correctly in the component that is intended to list all abbreviations. The main environment file for the project contains the definitions. e.g. \definesynonyms[abbreviation][abbreviations][\infull] \setupsynonyms[abbreviation][synonymstyle=\em] \abbreviation[adjp] {adjp.} {adjectival phrase} All dictionary components (A-Z) call on the main environment file where the above is defined and give me the correct result if I write \adjp\ or \infull{adjp} in any one of them. My MWE below for the (as yet not working) abbreviations component that contains the placelist command: \startcomponent 04_abbreviations \project project_Dictionary \startchapter[title={Abbreviations}] \placelistofabbreviations[criterium=all] \stopchapter \stopcomponent According to me that should work, but all I get is the chapter title. I also tried adding a state=start in case that was needed, but it did nothing. Julian

\setuplist only for bodypart

Dear list, sorry for the very basic question, but I cannot find the way to do it. Imagine I have the following command: \setuplist [chapter] [alternative=d] But I only want for sectionblock bodypart (nof for frontpart, backpart or the appendices). I have enclosed in: \startsectionblockenvironment[bodypart] ... \stopsectionblockenvironment I have also tried: \setuplist [bodypart:chapter] [alternative=d] But nothing changed. How to print a random whole number between x and y?

I was using this code for a long time in my document. I have a PDF with 10 pages, and this would randomly display one of those pages: \ctxlua{math.randomseed( os.time() )} \getrandomnumber \n {1} {10} \placefigure[force, none]{}{\framed[frame=off]{\externalfigure[comic.pdf][page=\n, width=\textwidth]}} For reasons I cannot understand, after an update of ConTeXt, the code no longer works, though trying to reduce it to a minimum working example it works, so I cannot figure out what is wrong in my code. Undefined control sequence <argument> ...domseed( os.time() )} \par \getrandomnumber \n {1} {10} \par \placefigure... \doifsomething #1->\edef \m_syst_string_one {#1 }\ifx \m_syst_string_one \emp... \event ... {#6}{{\bf #6}} \par \doifsomething {#7} {#7 } \par \doifsomething ... Custom engine settings in AUCTEX

HI! I’ve been trying out Doom-Emacs and when I open a ConTeXt file i want the engine point to my LMTX installation. /Users/jan-erikhagglof/context/context-osx-64/tex/texmf-osx-64/bin/ is the path to my install on my Macos Monterey. How can this been customized? Its a bit confusing reading the AUCTEX manual so maybe someone has a working config already? Thanks in advance Jan-Erik

lmtx installation paths not working

Hello list, I cannot make fresh install of lmtx to work. The structure after unzipping: C:\data\context\bin\beta C:\data\context\bin\beta\bin C:\data\context\bin\beta\tex C:\data\context\bin\beta\tex\texmf C:\data\context\bin\beta\tex\texmf-cache C:\data\context\bin\beta\tex\texmf-context etc. First compilation of texfile is not working, so mtxrun --generate is the friend. Footnotes in captions -> "inherit" textwidth from float

Hi, I think I've ran into a somewhat strange behaviour. If you have a footnote in a float caption, the footnote won't use the full textwidth, but only the width of the corresponding caption. Is that on purpose, a context bug or a user bug?
