Xindy interfaced to Context

I have completed my project to demonstrate the use of Xindy in conjunction with Context. Installation Problem: "sh: cont-en: command not found"

Hello, I've downloaded the latest beta and tried to install ConTeXt following the steps described in minstall.pdf. So the format file was generated; however, 'texexec filename.tex' results in 'sh: cont-en: command not found' error message. What should I do to solve this problem? Thanks in advance. Placeformula environment

Hi Hans, At this moment I am dealing with some chemical formulae. I ought to place them always in such a way that the may use the width of the textarea independent of the fact that the \placeformula may occur within an itemisation. - How to do this? Some of the formulae are broader than the paper-width. So I tried to place the formulae in buffers, which are put into place with \placefigure[left][fig:DEZ1]{none}{\externalfigure[DEZ1][type=buffer,width=\ textwidth]}. There arise two questions: 1. It looks like that the sizing mechanism does not quite what I expect, because the formulae still stick out into the margin? 2. Independently from the way the \placefigure mechanisme is used, there is a problem with the following paragraph? Could you please have a look into this matter. See attached file Groet Willi

I found it matched with Charter really well, and after that, found that other people on the net seem to agree with me. I had followed up this email with the attached minimal test. It doesn't give the glyphs I expect. I've tried all sorts of combinations to try to trigger the math symbols in math-eul, but I don't get any closer than this. Long section headings in footertexts

Hi all, I have a user who likes to have long \chapter titles, like {This is my title: with a whole lot of specific clarification}. When we set footertexts to be [chapter], it collides into the opposite footer (date, in this case). What I'd like to do is have some way of picking up the first part of the chapter title ("This is my title") and put only that into the footer text. I would call this a "subtitle" in a way. It's related to the second half of this complaint Bruce made back in August: Bruce D'Arcus said this at Wed, 7 Aug 2002 12:55:16 -0400: >Subtitles. More in lang-ger.tex and a MetaPost problem

Hi, I added som changes in lang-ger.tex some week ago. As I mentioned I forgot one headtext in lang-ger.tex. \setupheadtext [\s!sv] [\v!inhoud=Inneh\aring l] should have one more l, that is: \setupheadtext [\s!sv] [\v!inhoud=Inneh\aring ll] I also read in lang-ger.tex that there are some \definesortkey's for the norwegian language. I don't know why they are commented out (obsolete?). I tried to uncomment them and make a register that contains these additional letters (\aa,\ae,\o) but they still end up before A in the index. XML typesetting -- a bug?

Good morning. Some time ago I've uploaded and installed new ConTeXt (ConTeXt ver: 2002.10.23 fmt: 2002.12.4 int: english mes: english). With it my XHTML documents cannot be processed (it worked with some older version). Now I obtain this very error message: ! Missing \endcsname inserted. <to be read again> \def \parseXMLelement #1#2 #3>->\def \currentXMLarguments {#3}\if #1/\chardef \ki... l.2 <HTML> What's wrong? Is it my stupidness or a bug in a new version of ConTeXt? I include a minimal example file. Many thanks and greetings to you all. Michal Kvasnicka

Hi: Does anyone know of an alternative to Xpdf or Acrobat for Linux? Xpdf seems really slow and the fonts look bad, and Acrobat under Linux is just not as good as it is under Windows. Best wishes, Matt

pdf from pstric module

Hi Two questions about the m-pstric.tex file (version=1997.01.15). 1) When I try to use pstricks to generate a pdf file it stops when it tries to run dvips. It seems that it tries to run dvips without the -o flag. That works very well in Windows, but in Linux it will be sent to the standard printer and not to a .ps file that way (by default. When commenting out the o |lpr in config.ps it all works), so there is an error. The -o flag works in windows too (If my memory isn't to bad). So if there is a way to add that flag I would be happy. Adding the flags -G0 -Ppdf would be great to I think. That is, the command should be something like dvips -G0 -Ppdf file(.dvi) -o (file.ps) (where the things in () can be left out). 2) I also see in the m-pstric.tex file that only multido, pstricks and pst-plot are loaded. Is there a way to make it an option what packages to load. There are alot of nice pstrick packages I think (pst-3d,pst-fill,pst-char and so on...) For LaTeX users there is also a pst-all.sty that easily loads all pstricks packages. A similar pst-all.tex or an option to load them all would also be nice. Regards, Micke P

Help startfiguretext weirdness

Help! After finally installing the dec14 update of ConTeXt I foind that \startfiguretext inexplicable misses a }. Before this update everything was OK. \startfiguretext[left]{none}{\externalfigure[Goejanverwellesluis][frame= on]} TEKST \stopfiguretext gives in the log: ! Undefined control sequence. \stopfiguretext ->\dostoptextfloat l.89 ^^I\stopfiguretext ? figures : dimensions of ./Goejanverwellesluis.jpg loaded from figurefile itself (./test.tuo) floatblocks : 1 limited ! Missing } inserted. <inserted text> } <to be read again> \endgroup l.87 ...rnalfigure[Goejanverwellesluis][frame=on]} ? How come? Hans van der Meer
