A bug somewhere, possibly in the definition of \mathortext. For the time being, use \mathboldsymbol. Aditya

Hans, \mathortext in core-mat should be defined as unexpanded def. \unexpanded\def\mathortext {\ifmmode \expandafter\firstoftwoarguments \else \expandafter\secondoftwoarguments \fi} Aditya
