Enabling character mirroring without enabling "implicit bidi"
Currently, \enablecharactermirroring[1] also enables "implicit bidi", but, unfortunately, current ConTeXt bidi implementation isn't very useful. I know this is work in progress, but I like to be able to have simple character mirroring i.e. \textdir TRT will mirror all brackets as it currently make any text RTL. With the current situation, I'm almost unable to typeset any real Arabic document. Regards, Khaled -- Khaled Hosny Arabic localizer and member of Arabeyes.org team

we have kind of conflicting demands ... bibi directives as well as auto-bidi (using properties) is unaware of grouping also, we can have \textdir directives and what should then have priority it is no problem to have more 'bidi handling modes' but at some point choices have to be made by users: depend n bidi only, depend on textdir only, use (maybe onf of many) ways to mix bidi/textdir best is that you and idris explore this area keeping 'usability' in mind Hans ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | fax: 038 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------
