Initial Comment: during a thorough test on all large TrueType fonts listed at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicode_typefaces, 2 problems were discovered: 1. pdftex segfaults with fonts having very high number of glyphs. 2. font names were not handled properly in some border case, resulted in an invalid pdf.
