What are you doing? Trying to include an encrypted pdf? Best regards Martin -- Martin Schröder, ms@artcom-gmbh.de ArtCom GmbH, Lise-Meitner-Str 5, 28359 Bremen, Germany Voice +49 421 20419-44 / Fax +49 421 20419-10 http://www.artcom-gmbh.de

partly, copying and extraction permitted, changing not (this was needed because i wanted to get rid of the message 'do you want to save' which always shows up when forms are embedded; setting the change permission was the only way out under acrobat < 1.4 and this is an old doc) http://www.pragma-ade.com/itdemos/external/ex-files/ex-files.pdf Hans

So it's encrypted. pdfTeX can't handle that. Best regards Martin -- Martin Schröder, ms@artcom-gmbh.de ArtCom GmbH, Lise-Meitner-Str 5, 28359 Bremen, Germany Voice +49 421 20419-44 / Fax +49 421 20419-10 http://www.artcom-gmbh.de

It could perfectly well, so why not now? Hans

If it could, then it's a bug. I compiled xpdf without encryption to simplify the code (and to make the binaries smaller), because I thought it wouldn't work anyway. Will check. 1.12b-beta-20040309 compiles with encryption support (as did old versions). Please try again. Best regards Martin -- Martin Schröder, ms@artcom-gmbh.de ArtCom GmbH, Lise-Meitner-Str 5, 28359 Bremen, Germany Voice +49 421 20419-44 / Fax +49 421 20419-10 http://www.artcom-gmbh.de
