tikzpicture in margin

Hi all. I'm trying to place a TikZ picture in the margin. Here is a small example: \usemodule[tikz] \setuplayout[backspace=4cm, topspace=2cm, height=middle] \starttext \input{lorem} \margintext{I have discovered a truly marvelous proof ... but this margin is too narrow to contain it.} \input{lorem} \inmargin{\externalfigure[cow] [width=\marginwidth]} % The above works. % The following does not: \input{lorem} \inmargin{ \starttikzpicture \draw[gray] (-2,0) grid (2,2) ; \draw plot [domain=-2:2, samples=50, smooth] (\x,{\x * \x}); \stoptikzpicture } \stoptext -> Undefined control sequence I tried using \startfigure, \hbox... no success. Actually the command \startmarginblock ... \stop... described in the ConText reference works with a TikZ picture. But the picture, in the margin, gets near the top of the page. I don't understand the meaning of the options (especially the difference between `location' and `align'). And is it `\setuppagenumbering[alternative=doublesided]'-aware ? Question about parsing XML and attributes (normally var.at.attrib) with a name with ':' in it

If I have an XML element like this: <A x=“one” attribute:B=“two"/> and it has been read in a lua variable foo, I can get at attribute x with foo.at.x But how do I get at attribute:B? Hi, When you allocate a new register (with e.g. \newdimen) that is always a global definition (kind of a tex tradition). As a (likely to stay) experiment I added \newlocaldimen \foo \setnewlocaldimen \foo 123pt and comparable helpers. Some more can be found in lowlevel-scope.pdf in the distribution. The idea is that users who write their own macros that need 'variables' can define them locally without the danger for clashing with system ones (or each others macros). Actually, global assignments only affects that variable, so one can do \bgroup \newlocaldimen\foo \bgroup \global\foo=456pt \egroup ... use \foo \egroup Best use names like \mydimena etc in order nnot to clash with system ones (that can be protected against overload). In spite of redefinitions each time a macro using it gets expanded, performance is quite okay. It falls in the category "interesting hacks but maybe not needed because never asked for", but on the other hand, sometimes availability creates retrospective demand. (I also did \newlocalread and added some extra random access hackery to \read, so who knows what users will abuse that feature for.) parsing multi-valued parameters

Hello everyone, please can you give me pointers on how to easiest parse multi-valued \dummyparameter{...} like in \something[...,weather={sunshine, rain, hail},...] so that I can test for e.g. rain, sunshine, wind, hail, mist, fog, storm etc, each if it is present or not? ...so I can keep my number of parameters down and my parameter list as simple as possible. I have no idea what to search for in the docs or (better) in the test cases / samples. Would be great if you could just let me know where to look or what to sarch for Thank you very much! Werner

Loop?

Hello: I am trying to print a list of names always followed by the same info (generated by a new command). At the moment, I have all the names followed by the command like so: Person Number One \mycommand Person Number Two \mycommand Person Number Three \mycommand Person Number Four \mycommand Person Number Five \mycommand . . . I'd rather have the list of people stored somewhere (a list? an array?) and loop through it and then inserting \mynewcommand at compilation time. That way, when I need to replace the list of people with a new one, I'd just do that instead of building the above structure again and again. Is it possible to do that with just ConTeXt or would I need to resort to Lua. I guess it should be possible both ways, but I haven't figure out how to do it. Any pointer, please? [pagenumbers in pdf]

When I generate a serie of TEXpages, those pages end up with the same page number in the pdf. 1, 1, 1 \starttext \def\blz{\begingroup \startTEXpage 1 2 3 \stopTEXpage \endgroup} \blz \blz \blz \stoptext If I insert a \strut at the start, I get pagenumbering 1, 2, 3, 1 \starttext \def\blz{\begingroup \startTEXpage 1 2 3 \stopTEXpage \endgroup} \strut \blz \blz \blz \stoptext As in most software, there is a probable reason for that :-) But how to get the pages numbered 1, 2, 3 without an empty page at the start? .F
